The maker behind Free Yourself Upcycles wearing one of her upcycled denim pieces
Our story

A second life for good fabric

She's been sewing since she was six years old, and thrifting for nearly as long. Free Yourself Upcycles is what happens when those two lifelong passions finally come together: old denim, vintage prints, kimono panels and cast-off linens taken apart and reimagined into pieces that feel brand new, because to you, they are.

She studied fashion design in her twenties, but life had other plans and the dream sat on the shelf. Now she's finally chasing it, later in life and entirely on her own terms, and every piece on the rack is proof it was worth the wait.

Everything is cut, sewn and embellished by hand in the Okanagan, then carried to markets around the valley. The mission is simple: sustainable style that celebrates every body, with no two pieces ever the same.

Why “Free Yourself”?

The name took forever to find, because it had to say everything. This is fashion with the rules taken out: nobody is too old, too big or too anything to wear what they love. Sizes run XXS to XXXL, with custom pieces made to fit, so you're free to choose whatever feels like you.

Free yourself from fast fashion!

Free yourself from stereotypes!

Free yourself from limitations!

Free your body! Free your soul!
